The Nissan Altima has been around since 1992, and it is only getting better with time. The 6th generation, all-new Altima seems to be the best one yet. Nissan has upped its game within the D-segment and that shows with the new Altima. Competing alongside the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Hyundai Sonata and Mazda 6, the 2019 Altima is winning on many aspects.

Exterior

From being just another sedan on the streets to a head turner, the 2019 Nissan Altima looks sporty and luxurious. Exterior highlights are the V-motion grille and stylish LED headlights and fog lights in the front, 19-inch alloys complimented by a floating roof along the side, and dual exhausts on the rear with a sporty bumper and diffuser. Simply said, the Altima has grown up and it has blossomed into a beautiful car.

Interior

The interiors are very well designed. Minimalistic, a wee bit sporty and a sprinkle of luxury, how so? Well, a crisp center console with a 7-inch touch infotainment screen that supports Androids Auto & Apple Car Play takes center stage with the dual zone climate controls beneath that. Sporty & luxurious with carbon fiber accents along the door panels and wooden accents along the dashboard.

The seats are ultra-comfortable, which is very important for mid-size sedans since most of them are driven daily and over long distances. Having said that, be it long distance or long hours in traffic, the brilliant seats in the Altima won’t be hurting your back or giving your legs any cramps.

For features, the Altima packs an amazing Bose sound system with nine speakers. Crank it up and it’s always a little party, especially if you enjoy some karaoke while you drive around town. A massive plus point are the safety features packed in the Altima. Equipped with Nissan Intelligent Mobility, it works as an extra pair of eyes and is a collection of several technologies such as intelligent emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning.

Drive

The Nissan Altima is a comfortable and safe daily drive, meaning one of its most important criteria is to be fuel efficient. That’s supported by the all-new 2.5L 4-Cylinder DIG engine (Direct Injection Gasoline) and the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

The engine produces 188HP & 244 Nm of torque, which isn’t a whole lot when you have a heavy right foot and a need for speed, but then again, the Altima’s key highlight is fuel efficiency and not speed. What’s also new with this 6th generation Altima is the chassis, steering and suspension – all coming together to give it better performance, improved control and handling.

The all-new 2019 Nissan Altima is priced between the range of AED 91,000 to AED 119,500. What you get when purchasing one then, is a car that stands out amongst its competition offering durability, fuel efficiency, reliability, comfort and good looks. On the whole, well done Nissan!
