Audi has officially revealed the third-generation Q3 for the 2026 model year, showcasing a modern reinterpretation of its compact SUV. With sharper styling cues, an upgraded interior packed with tech, and a range of efficient powertrains, the new Q3 is strongly positioned against rivals like the BMW X1 and Mercedes GLA.
Striking New Look
The 2026 Q3 introduces Audi’s striking split-headlamp design, with slim LED daytime running lights perched atop and main beams below - echoing the aesthetic of the larger Q6 e-tron. The Singleframe grille is wider but more compact, framed by sculpted bumpers and more prominent air intakes that lend a bold, muscular front end.
The design has pronounced fender arches and a slightly longer wheelbase than before, suggesting expanded interior space.
The rear also gets a refreshed appearance, with redesigned taillights that sprawl across the tailgate in a unified piano-black flair. A Sportback version with a coupe-style roofline will also remain part of the lineup.
Tech-Rich Interior
Audi has significantly upgraded the cabin to feel more upscale. Entry-level trims feature a digital cockpit and a central touchscreen, while higher-end models host a 14.5-inch infotainment display, optional 10.9-inch passenger screen, and optional heads-up display.
The new Q3 shifts its gear selector to a redesigned steering column, following the design cues seen on the Q5 and Tiguan. An OLED “Digital Stage” display setup is available on higher trims, offering intuitive access to driver controls and media.
Electrified Powertrain Lineup
Built on an updated MQB Evo platform shared with the Cupra Terramar and VW Tiguan, the new Q3 embraces hybridization. Buyers can expect mild-hybrid 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter petrol engines, a 2.0-liter diesel, and a plug-in hybrid variant offering up to 268 horsepower and over 100 km of electric-only range in Europe.
Peak petrol output is estimated between 150 and 200 hp, with quattro all-wheel-drive becoming standard on higher trims.
Driving and Practicality
Audi says the new platform and chassis tuning will improve ride comfort and road manners compared with the outgoing model.
Inside, passengers gain extra legroom and cargo capacity thanks to a longer wheelbase and refined packaging. Expect improved aerodynamics too, enhancing both efficiency and cabin serenity.
Launch and Outlook
Audi will start European sales starting late 2025 and North American availability as a 2026 model. There is no word yet on the Middle East launch of the refreshed model, yet.
