Changes in the 2014 BMW X5
Introduction
The 2014 BMW X5 has undergone several changes that are likely to attract more buyers. For the first time, the X5 will be available as a rear-wheel-drive option in the sDrive35i model, whereas previous models featured all-wheel drive.
Engines
The gasoline engines in the 2014 BMW X5 remain unchanged; however, a diesel engine will be available with an eight-speed automatic transmission to enhance fuel efficiency.
Interior Design
Inside, the BMW X5 provides a spacious feel with horizontal lines and layered surfaces. The materials used include wood, high-gloss black, and silver gray. There are two interior design packages: the Ivory White package and the Mocha package.
Availability
The 2014 BMW X5 will arrive in the United States by the end of this year, with the following models available:
- X5 sDrive35i
- X5 xDrive35i
- X5 xDrive50i
The diesel model, X5 xDrive35d, will be available at the beginning of 2014.
