Jaguar F-Pace 2017 Front

The Jaguar F-Pace is the British manufacturer's first SUV, competing with models like Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Porsche Macan. This vehicle caters to city dwellers seeking uniqueness and distinction, representing a modern alternative to traditional competitors.

Key Features

  • Engine: 3.0L Supercharged V6
  • Transmission: 8-speed automatic
  • Power: 380 hp / 460 Nm of torque
  • Top Speed: 250 km/h
  • Price: 329,000 AED

Exterior Design

The F-Pace boasts a muscular and intimidating exterior that clearly reflects its lineage with the F-Type. Its powerful hood hints at strength and ferocity, making it a standout in design within the automotive sector.

The sleek design of the headlights and the large rear diffuser, along with massive front air intakes and 22-inch wheels with 265/40 Pirelli P Zero tires, elevate its sporty character. Red brake calipers and a prominent rear spoiler add to its aggressive aesthetic.

Interior Design

The cabin features a blend of red and black leather, showcasing parts from Jaguar Land Rover known for their exquisite design, albeit with an abundance of hard plastics that fall short of expected luxury standards.

With a wheelbase of 2,874 mm and high seating, the Jaguar F-Pace can accommodate only four adults, a number its competitors surpass. Due to the elevated seats and sloping roofline, rear passengers may find headroom and legroom lacking.

Safety and Technology

The vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive array of safety features, comfort options, and advanced technologies—making the Jaguar F-Pace a technological paradise. Leading its segment, the F-Pace features a fully digital instrument cluster that boasts an impressive aesthetic and eliminates response lag.

A 10.2-inch infotainment system spans the dashboard, utilizing the InControl Touch Pro application for numerous controls, paired with an 11-speaker Meridian Sound System delivering 380 watts. The cabin also includes a head-up display and a full panoramic roof.

Performance and Driving Experience

Powered by a 3.0L supercharged V6 engine generating 380 hp and 460 Nm of torque through an 8-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h using 98 octane fuel and supercharged settings.

The suspension system is not overly stiff, providing a joyful and sporty ride that is not harsh. With torque directed to the wheels and direct steering, the Jaguar F-Pace proves itself as more than just an ordinary SUV.

Conclusion

The Jaguar F-Pace has its fair share of flaws, and at a price of 322,000 AED, I believe this is unjustifiable. Given the quality of materials used, I think its competitors—Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Porsche Macan—remain superior.

Pros

  • Comfortable seats that keep you in place while driving
  • Amazing steering response

Cons

  • Unacceptable brake noise and interior design
  • Lacks the impressive exhaust system found in the F-Type
