Uber Relaunches Its Services

In support of the Emiratization program in the UAE, Uber has relaunched its services in Abu Dhabi following a joint agreement with the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) and the Ministry of Transport. This agreement allows UAE citizens to become drivers for Uber and use their personal vehicles to pick up and drop off passengers, whether on a full-time or part-time basis.

Official Statements

Mohammed Darwish Al Qamzi, the General Director of the Integrated Transport Centre, stated: “We are pleased to provide reliable and convenient transportation solutions with Uber for residents and visitors in Abu Dhabi. All private and public vehicles are supervised according to ITC regulations to meet the required standards and licensing requirements.”

Details of Uber Services in the UAE

The base fare for Uber in the UAE ranges between AED 5.4 and AED 10.6, depending on the day of the week and the time of day, as well as whether there is a public holiday. The fare per kilometer is AED 2.25, and waiting charges are AED 0.25 per minute.

Uber's Vision for the Future

Anthony Khoury, the Regional Director of Uber Middle East, remarked: “We are proud to announce the relaunch of Uber and to bring our technology to all residents and visitors in the emirate. Our collaboration with the Integrated Transport Centre is a positive result of our ongoing work with the Abu Dhabi government to provide innovative transportation solutions across the emirate.”
