Introduction

Honda has been crafting practical and stylish compact cars under the "Civic" name for over 40 years. We took a look at the new and updated 2013 Civic to see what makes it stand out. The model we tested features a sleek white exterior with sporty 17-inch Michelin wheels. Chrome accents seem to be Honda's focus this year, evident on the door handles, front grille, and front bumper.

Interior

Interior of the 2013 Honda Civic

Upon entering the vehicle, you'll immediately notice the comfort of the leather seats. After adjusting your seat, you can also modify the steering wheel to achieve the perfect driving position. The 2013 Honda Civic continues the tradition of a two-tier dashboard, which enhances the sense of space inside. It offers a digital display that lights up green when the driver is driving economically, and the multi-information display shows fuel efficiency.

  • The dashboard has been redesigned, featuring metallic touches and some chrome accents.
  • It still incorporates a significant amount of plastic on the dashboard compared to its competitors.
  • Rear passengers may complain about limited headroom and the lack of air conditioning vents.

The trunk has a capacity of 400 liters, which is smaller than the Sentra at 510 liters, and less than the Peugeot 301 at 640 liters.

Driving Experience

The car is equipped with a 1.8-liter i-VTEC engine, producing 139 horsepower and 173 Nm of torque. This allows for acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 10.4 seconds.

While this car isn’t designed for high-speed driving, it does boast very strong brakes! Overall visibility is good, and the design of the A-pillars with the windshield offers excellent sightlines even when cornering.

  • All models come equipped with ECON technology for fuel efficiency.
  • The fuel economy rate was recorded at 9.0 liters/100 km.

Conclusion

In summary, although the Civic lacks rear air conditioning vents and doesn’t provide ample headroom, it offers an enjoyable driving experience and is well-suited for a small family.
