2013 Toyota Avalon Driving Experience in the UAE

2013 Toyota Avalon

We tested the 2013 Toyota Avalon in the UAE. Each car had two drivers, allowing us to switch roles during the experience. The test lasted three hours, combining city driving and highway journeys. Here’s our review:

Driving Performance

The Avalon 2013 boasts a powerful 268 horsepower engine. There is a lighter model that is shorter by 60 mm, which improves aerodynamics and fuel efficiency. The dynamic and aggressive lines give the car a strong appearance.

We drove the SE model, which is the second of four trims. This model has one driving mode, while the other two offer three modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport.

The driving experience met our expectations for a 3.5L V6 engine; it was smooth, comfortable, and quick. The steering was responsive, and the torque acceleration was impressive—when you want to speed up, you definitely will!

Is it the Best 3.5L V6?

We tested it, and while it comes close, we found that the Nissan Maxima and Ford Taurus slightly outperform it. We recommend improving the braking system as, during our test, the brakes required more effort than we expected to engage.

The acceleration from 0-100 km/h was achieved in under 7 seconds, which is anticipated. The fuel economy averaged 9.5L/100km, which is good but not the best in its class.

Interior Features

2013 Toyota Avalon Interior

The Avalon combines elegance and sportiness in its interior with good quality materials. All models come equipped with leather seats, while the top two trims feature premium leather. In terms of technology, all essential functions are present, including Bluetooth, iPod, USB, and more.

However, there is no lane departure warning, which is a point for the 2013 Honda Accord, which offers a lane monitoring camera on the right side.

The entertainment system is solid, featuring 8 speakers in the base model and 11 speakers in the higher trims.

One of the best aspects of the interior is the inclusion of 10 airbags, which is a standard that other cars should follow. Safety should not depend on how much money you can spend for better security. It is crucial for everyone, and Avalon has made sure that all its models come with equal safety features.

Conclusion

Practical, stylish, powerful, and a fantastic luxury option for families. Being a Toyota, expect good resale value as well. While the brakes may not be the best in this category, they suffice for daily driving. This vehicle is definitely worth a test drive.
