Review of the 2014 Hyundai Centennial

Introduction
It was a bright Sunday when I arrived at the Atlantis Hotel for the launch of an important vehicle. This car is rare on the streets and represents one of the most luxurious offerings from South Korea. If you think I’m talking about the Hyundai Centennial, you’re absolutely right!
Driving Experience
Upon arriving at the venue, we were given an overview of the vehicle until the moment I could finally take it for a spin.
Driving from Atlantis Hotel to Sun Tower at Yas Marina
The first thing that caught my eye was the stunning 19-inch alloy wheels! The new bumper design, along with the updated fog lights and rear end, are some of the enhancements that add to this elegant and luxurious sedan.
Performance
After lunch at Yas Marina, we tested the vehicle thoroughly. While we didn't do everything we wished, our experience was quite sufficient.
There are two engine options available:
- 3.8L GDi producing 334 horsepower and 395.2 Nm of torque.
- 5.0L V8 with impressive power!
There are three driving modes: Normal, Sport, and Snow.
Activating the Sport mode delivers quick and exhilarating acceleration. However, the Centennial is large and heavy, which means you might feel it when cornering sharply, although the suspension has been reinforced in Sport mode. Another downside is that in Normal mode, the car takes about two seconds to respond when you accelerate.

Interior
The interior is absolutely stunning, featuring real wood, a new dashboard, authentic aluminum, and soft genuine leather on the dashboard, seats, and headrests. Additionally, they have incorporated a luxurious new watch designed in collaboration with "Ennis & Lester".
From a technological perspective, the Centennial is packed with features for both the driver and passengers. It includes a front display, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and a surround-view monitoring system. In the back, there are 9.2-inch screens, reading lights, seat cooling, a beverage cooler, a one-touch folding front seat, and a connection for extending the seat during long trips, complemented by a Lexicon sound system with 17 speakers!

Summary
Overall, the 2014 Centennial provides a smooth ride that feels like you’re gliding over the road. While the car’s response in Normal mode may not meet expectations, it remains a magnificent and powerful vehicle that can handle challenges. If you’re in the market for a luxury sedan, this model is definitely worth considering.
