2015 Audi A6 Launch
The Audi Middle East recently hosted a media event for the launch of the 2015 A6. Essentially, it’s the same car, now featuring updated headlights, an enhanced entertainment system, a new transmission, and additional engine options. There’s not much to say about its exterior; it remains the beautifully designed Audi we've known since 2011.
Entertainment System
For the entertainment system, the A6 comes equipped with the MMI featuring an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, a significant name in the smartphone industry. This new system supports:
- Handwriting recognition
- Audi Connect
- 4G Internet
The enhanced maps and UI look sleek and sophisticated.
Engine Performance
The A6 features a new 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, delivering 252 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque. Other options include a 3.0-liter engine with 333 horsepower, and the powerful 4.0-liter engines producing 450 horsepower and 560 horsepower for the S6 and RS6, respectively.
Driving Experience
This was my first experience with the A6, so I don't have extensive prior knowledge. In my drive, it felt very stable, though it swayed slightly around corners. Driving in Quattro mode provided good traction, and the engines had enough power to satisfy. However, I must admit that the 3.0-liter engine felt superior to the 2.0-liter variant. The seats and suspension didn't quite harmonize; even in "Comfort" mode, I didn't feel entirely at ease, and my passengers shared my sentiment.
Another Driving Experience
I spent most of my time driving the A6, so I didn’t have the opportunity to test the S6 and RS6 in depth, so I won’t comment much on those. However, from my brief experience, I found the S6 to be more enjoyable to drive compared to the RS6, likely due to the weight difference. The RS6 felt quite heavy.
I hope to have a complete test drive of the RS6 soon. For my limited experience with the A6, I believe it will satisfy most of you.
