- Delayed deployment of airbags for the driver and passenger led to the driver's head colliding with the steering wheel and the passenger's head hitting the dashboard.

During the assessment of the Mustang, the vehicle achieved the following ratings:

Ford's Response
Ford defended its Mustang by stating that no vehicle in this sector offers these safety features as standard. They noted that the 2018 model will be equipped with new safety enhancements, which include:
