Introduction

The Geely Emgrand X7 Sport was unveiled to a group of media representatives from across the region. Designed by Peter Horbury, this vehicle competes with models like the Hyundai Tucson. The launch event took place at the luxurious Hormuz Grand Hotel and spanned two days, featuring a blindfolded test drive among its competitors, alongside a scenic tour of Oman.
Vehicle Performance
Equipped with a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated engine, the Emgrand X7 Sport generates approximately 155 horsepower and 225 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The performance proved sufficient and robust as we ascended to the breathtaking Green Mountain, known for its challenging terrains.
Driving Experience
The driving tour lasted 8 hours, covering a distance of 350 km and included visits to three springs in different areas:
- Wadi Finja
- Nizwa Fort
- Green Mountain
At every location we visited, the vehicle showcased its exceptional capabilities.
Technology and Features
Emphasizing its value for money, the vehicle comes equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen linked to climate control, power steering, door locks, smart phone connectivity, and a rearview camera for parking. Additionally, it features a navigation system powered by iGo, one of Europe's leading service providers.
Price and Competition
The price of the Chinese Geely Emgrand ranges from AED 60,000 for the standard model to AED 80,000 for the fully equipped version. It truly offers something special.
