2018 Mazda CX-3 Review - A Stylish and Fun Crossover
Overview of the Mazda CX-3
The Mazda CX-3 is the smallest crossover in the brand’s lineup, based on the same platform as the smaller Mazda 2 hatchback. First appearing on the automotive scene in 2016, the CX-3 has gained a reputation for being a fun and spirited driving crossover, stylish enough for urban dwellers.

Design and Features
The 2018 Mazda CX-3 showcases a striking design that remains largely unchanged. It features a sharp snout, a sizable front grille, and stretched-back headlamps, contributing to its sporty appearance. The mixture of creases, bulges, and swooping lines give the side profile enough character to help the CX-3 stand out among crossovers. The rear end resembles a hatchback on stilts rather than a typical crossover.
Interior Layout
Like the exterior, the interior of the 2018 Mazda CX-3 is almost identical to the previous year's model. It features a stylish design with good overall build quality and cabin trim. However, the rear seats may feel a bit cramped, and the small rear windows can contribute to claustrophobia. The minimalistic dash design looks modern, and the CX-3 can be equipped with a head-up display (HUD) and a premium Bose sound system.
Performance
The 2018 Mazda CX-3 is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 146 horsepower and 192 Nm of torque. Depending on the drivetrain choices, this SKYACTIV motor delivers power through a 6-speed transmission. The all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 8.3 seconds, with a top speed of 195 km/h.
