2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Review
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has always been the frontrunner in the automotive world, setting the standards for industry benchmarks and leading-edge technology. The arrival of the latest version of this world-class vehicle was celebrated at Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, attended by a distinguished gathering of clients, prominent figures, media representatives, and corporate officials from across the region.
Car Launch
The venue for the unveiling of the new Mercedes-Benz was adorned with striking designs, featuring experiential zones that immersed visitors in virtual driving experiences and showcased the unique specifications of the new S-Class. Corridors were equipped with fascinating information and classic Mercedes models. The S-Class was revealed through a combination of stunning lighting and exquisite music, in the presence of representatives from Gargash Enterprises and Al-Fahim Group.
Technology and Specifications
The 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is distinguished by its driver-assist systems, taking autonomous driving technology to an entirely new level. It also includes exceptional comfort features, such as massage systems for the seats, climate control systems, ambient lighting, and sound options.

The first system detects any bumps or obstacles on the road using a stereo camera, adjusting the suspension system accordingly, while the second system rotates the vehicle's body by up to 2.65 degrees to reduce the centrifugal force felt by the driver.
Engine Performance
In addition to the meticulous adjustments in both interior and exterior design, the car is powered by an all-new 8-cylinder engine, believed to be one of the most fuel-efficient engines on the market today, with an expected fuel consumption reduction of 10% compared to the previous model.
The engine found in the S560 variant is equipped with twin turbochargers, generating 469 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque.
Engine Variants
- S63 4MATIC+ performance variant with an engine producing 612 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque.
- Luxurious Maybach S650 variant with a 6.0-liter 12-cylinder engine generating 630 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque.
The following variants will be available in the Gulf Cooperation Council markets: S450, S560, S560 4MATIC, S63 4MATIC+, and Maybach S650, with prices ranging from AED 405,000 to AED 770,000.
