Comparison Between the 2018 Toyota Camry and the 2018 Honda Accord
Just as there has been a long-standing rivalry in football between Barcelona and Real Madrid, there exists another classic rivalry in the automotive world. Today, we present a comparison between two vehicles that have competed for many years: the 2018 Toyota Camry and the 2018 Honda Accord. Let's discover which of these sedans can convince me it’s the best choice for this year. I'm Anas Qablawi, and my car today is the 2018 Toyota Camry.
Exterior Design
Starting with the exterior design of both cars, Toyota aims to break away from the monotonous style that we have come to expect from the Camry. I believe they have succeeded, especially with the sporty version I have with me today, which brings it closer to the styling of sports cars.
The Honda Accord, on the other hand, features a completely new design. The fastback profile, characterized by its straight lines and large, broad headlights, adds an air of luxury to the vehicle.
In my personal opinion, I might have preferred the Accord’s design more if it weren’t for the large chrome piece that Honda insists on incorporating into all its vehicles.
Interior Design
Inside the 2018 Accord, we find a design language that aligns with its exterior, featuring clean lines that create an elegant and spacious cabin feel.
In contrast, the Camry showcases a bolder design with a prominent curve running through the middle of the dashboard, giving it a modern and sporty appearance.
However, the Accord excels in terms of material quality, utilizing high-grade plastics that enhance the overall interior experience.
Specifications and Technological Features
One of the key features people look for in this class of vehicles is the comfort of the rear seats. Here, you will notice how the fastback design of the Honda affects rear-seat comfort.
The 2018 Accord, priced at AED 140,000, does not hold back on features; it comes equipped with remote start capabilities and keyless entry and ignition.
However, the standout feature in the specifications is what Honda refers to as "Honda Sensing," which consists of various driver-assist systems.
Driving Experience
The Camry sport model is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine, generating 298 horsepower. Meanwhile, Honda has taken a bold step with the Accord by opting for smaller turbocharged engines.
Conclusion
In the end, both the Camry and Accord remain top choices in the mid-size sedan category. There’s no doubt that the 2018 Camry, with its price, design, and market reputation as a leading sedan, is one of the most reliable options available.
I hope you enjoyed today’s comparison, and please don’t hesitate to share in the comments your favorite car: the Camry or the Accord?
