Launch of the Cadillac CT5

Cadillac unveiled its first-ever CT5 sedan during a special campaign across social media, designed to evoke sensory experiences using a technique known as Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR).

Unique Sound Experience

The promotional videos focused on specific sounds crafted to stimulate physical responses, typically manifested as a gentle tingling sensation along the spine. These sounds included:

  • The sound of the optional 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged CT5 engine.
  • The audio output from the Bose® Performance Series speakers.
  • The whisper-like sound produced by the slowly removed black-and-white camouflage wrap, revealing the exterior of the new sedan.

Executive Statement

Commenting on this initiative, Deborah Wall, Cadillac's Chief Marketing Officer, stated, "The Cadillac CT5 aims to dominate all the senses, which is why we use ASMR-style videos to uniquely showcase its varied features. The 'Symphony of Sensations' videos are designed to reflect the wonderful feeling of driving this car."

CT5 Design and Performance

The CT5 showcases Cadillac's expertise in crafting high-performance American sedans, featuring meticulous attention to detail aimed at enhancing every driving experience. The CT5 is built on an upgraded version of the award-winning RWD/AWD Alpha architecture and includes:

  • A standard 2.0-liter turbocharged engine.
  • An optional 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged engine with a unique sound calibration.

Both engines are paired with a standard 10-speed automatic transmission that offers nearly imperceptible gear shifts.

Interior and Features

The driver-focused interior of the CT5 seamlessly blends high-tech features with luxurious materials to provide an exceptional sense of control. The new sedan will be available in Luxury and Sport trims, giving customers more options in terms of appearance and driving character.

Production and Debut

The CT5 will be produced at General Motors' Lansing Grand River plant, which received a $211 million investment to manufacture Cadillac's next-generation sedan. The car will make its public debut in April at the New York International Auto Show.

Promotional Videos

Cadillac will release a new promotional video each week leading up to the New York Auto Show, where the CT5 will be showcased for the first time. This will culminate in the "Symphony of Sensations" video featuring the car's sounds on April 16.
