The 2024 Lexus GX is a spacious SUV designed for rugged terrains, making its debut this year as part of its third generation. This new version of the Japanese vehicle serves as the upscale counterpart to the upcoming Toyota Land Cruiser Prado.

The new Lexus GX, like its sibling, the Lexus LX 600 2023, is built on the GA-F platform, which is the premium production version of the Toyota Land Cruiser. Regarding the suspension system, the 2024 model features:

The Lexus has implemented an electronic steering system in this new model, which the Japanese company claims will improve steering responsiveness on both off-road and regular roads. Additionally, customers can opt for adaptive suspension with active dampers.
2024 Lexus GX: Engine and Performance
If you're a fan of larger engines, you may be disappointed, as Lexus has discontinued the V8 engine in the new Lexus GX. Instead, the Japanese company has adopted a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that produces 349 horsepower and 649 Nm of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
It’s also worth mentioning that the Lexus GX will later offer multiple engine options, including:

The new GX comes equipped with a full-time four-wheel-drive system and features a Torsen limited-slip center differential as part of the standard drivetrain. Compared to the previous model, the electronically controlled transfer case allows for quicker transitions between high-range and low-range 4WD.

The 2024 Lexus GX presents a clear departure from its predecessor in terms of appearance. The body design showcases many sharp angles while maintaining the iconic Lexus spindle grille, which is seamlessly integrated into the front fascia. The windshield appears more upright, contributing to a more elegant look. The rear features a straight rear window that can be opened, accompanied by a full-width light strip connecting the taillights, with the Lexus name positioned above it.
The Lexus GX rides on 33-inch wheels and 18-inch rims, with an option for 22-inch rims available in the luxury and luxury plus trims.
2024 Lexus GX: Interior Features
The interior design of the new Lexus GX showcases several standout features inspired by its siblings, the Lexus RX and LM. It includes a digital instrument cluster with a wide 12.3-inch screen, alongside a 14-inch display for the infotainment system.
Notably, this system provides wireless support for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and temperature and volume controls are conveniently managed through touch-sensitive dials. Additionally, there are buttons for the transfer case and differential lock located behind the gear lever in the center console.
The 2024 GX is available in two seating configurations, with the first option accommodating six passengers and featuring individual seats in the second row. The second option allows for seven people, including a third seating row in the second row.
