BMW XM Out, XM Label In: The Sole Trim, Still Packing Punch
Tags:

BMW is simplifying the XM lineup for 2026, ditching the standard model and keeping only the potent XM Label. This plug‑in hybrid powerhouse continues to hold the title as the most powerful BMW M SUV, backed by significant updates.
One Trim to Rule the Lineup
As of next year, the 2026 XM will only be offered in the Label version. The decision puts full focus on the flagship offering and simplifies choices for consumers. Gone is the basic V8 XM; buyers will only have the plug‑in hybrid available.

Powertrain That Packs a Punch
The XM Label pairs a 577-hp twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with a 194-hp electric motor mated with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The M Hybrid system delivers a total output of 738 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque—all-wheel-drive only.
BMW estimates 0–60 mph in 3.6 seconds, with a top speed of 155 mph. Those opting for the M Driver’s Package can raise that limit to 175 mph.

Faster Charging for Daily Use
While the battery pack remains unchanged at 19.2 kWh (net), the onboard charger has been upgraded from 7.4 kW to 11 kW. That means shorter fill-up times at Level 2 stations, dropping from about 3 hours and 15 minutes to under 3 hours. BMW continues to claim a 30-mile electric range, ideal for brief commutes or running errands without firing up the V8.

Fresh Aesthetics Inside and Out
BMW has introduced new Individual paint options like Frozen Tanzanite Blue along with updated 23-inch wheels in jet-black finish. Inside, buyers can choose from three fresh leather themes: Night Blue, Black, or Silverstone Merino - all featuring Vintage Coffee accents. Satin‑black trim and a Welcome Light Animation enhance the visual appeal.

When It Arrives
The 2026 XM Label will make its official debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 14, followed by production in Spartanburg, South Carolina starting August. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet.
