Annual Parking Permits in Abu Dhabi: How to Apply and Costs

Overview of Annual Parking Permits

Motorists in and around the emirate of Abu Dhabi can now apply for annual parking permits to park their vehicles in blue and black painted spaces in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

Parking Permit Charges

The charges for parking permits are as follows:

• 1 Month: AED 391
• 3 Months: AED 1,174
• 6 Months: AED 2,348
• 1 Year: AED 4,695

How to Apply for Parking Permits

To avail of these parking permits, motorists can apply online through the ITC website. Applicants must submit copies of the emirates ID and vehicle registration card. The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi stated that this service introduced by Mawaqif aims to ease life for the public by eliminating the need to worry about hourly and daily parking fees.

Permit Usage Restrictions

The permit is only eligible for use in standard parking and cannot be used in resident areas, villa zones, or premium parking spaces marked with white and blue paint.

Eligibility for Parking Permits

This new permit is accessible to all, including both companies and individuals. All vehicles, with the exception of those with a public number plate, are eligible to apply. Additionally, companies such as mail delivery services and service providers can obtain permits for their vehicles and motorcycles.

Important Notes

It is crucial to note that this new permit does not replace resident parking permits. Instead, it replaces the daily parking ticket for standard parking, which costs AED 2 per hour and AED 15 for the full day.

Online Permit Issuance

Since the permit is issued online, there is no need for motorists to display it on the dashboard of their vehicle. The ITC has also stated that if a permit holder is traveling, they can submit a request to park their vehicle in dedicated parking spaces to prevent it from being considered abandoned or getting towed.
