Ajman Taxi Safety Measures Against Coronavirus
Overview of APTA's Safety Measures
The Ajman Public Transportation Authority (APTA) is taking significant steps to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus in the UAE. This includes mandating that cab drivers wear sanitary masks and sterilize their vehicles daily. Furthermore, drivers are undergoing weekly check-ups to ensure they remain fit, healthy, and safe from the outbreak.
Vehicle Sterilization
According to Omar Lootah, Director of Operations at APTA, “400 taxis were sterilized this week. All vehicles, including limousines, are thoroughly cleaned from the exterior and interior, using solutions proven to kill germs and viruses for the safety of our drivers and passengers.”
Driver Awareness and Training
In addition to sterilization, Ajman taxi drivers are also attending awareness workshops on health and hygiene. These key steps are crucial in preventing both drivers and passengers from being exposed to the disease.
