Statement from Kia's Head of Product

Thomas Schemera, Head of Product at Kia Motors, remarked: "When we launched the K5 in 2010, it marked the dawn of a new era for Kia, with a design that gradually changed perceptions of the brand in markets worldwide."

Now, after two generations, we believe the new K5 will do the same. With its fastback design, the new K5 is one of the sportiest vehicles we've ever created, featuring an extensive array of advanced technologies, refined engines, and an upscale interior, making it one of the most sophisticated cars in its class.

All-New Optima Design

The all-new Optima was designed collaboratively by Kia's three design studios located in North America, Europe, and Korea. The front of the car showcases an evolution of Kia's "Tiger Nose" grille, integrated with LED headlights, featuring daytime running lights that form a "heartbeat" pattern, symbolizing the high levels of emotion that the vehicle aims to inspire.

With its elegant design and a simple aesthetic, the interior of the new K5 Optima provides a serene retreat for both drivers and passengers.

Future-Oriented Driver-Centric Interior

The driver-centric interior of this sporty sedan features a selection of materials that create a sense of spaciousness and harmony through its wide, horizontal symmetry.

Engine Options

Depending on the market, the available engine options include:

• 2.0-liter MPI (Multi-Point Injection) - 150 HP, 192 Nm
• 2.5-liter GDi - 190 HP, 246 Nm

As with previous generations of the Optima, hybrid powertrain options will also be available. All engines come standard with a six or eight-speed automatic transmission.
