Allison Transmission and Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation join hands for Walk-In Van Program

Allison Transmission Partners with Freightliner Custom Chassis for Advanced Transmissions
Introduction
Allison Transmission has announced a collaboration with the Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) to integrate its Allison 1000 Series™ and 2000 Series™ transmissions into FCCC’s MT vans. This integration will feature Allison’s next-generation electronic controls platform, enabling over-the-air software updates and providing advanced communications and functional safety.
New Features of the Transmissions
The new transmission system will include:
- A new Control Module
- A new software operating system for control and calibration
- Enhanced cyber security infrastructure
Both the 1000 and 2000 Highway Series transmissions will be paired with a GM 6.6L engine capable of producing 380 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. Additionally, these upgraded transmissions will come with a standard five-year warranty.
