130 drivers arrested in Al Ain for reckless driving

The Traffic and Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police has increased the number of patrols in Al Ain city to spot dangerous motorists who perform menacing road stunts and racing their cars which endangers and annoys other people.

The campaign, which was carried out from June 10 to 20, ended up with the arrest of 130 motorists, 52 held for reckless driving and 78 for getting speed boosters fitted into their vehicles in Mazeed, Al Dhahir, Umm Ghafa, Al Goa, Al Wajan and Zakhir neighborhoods.

Brigadier Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Directorate, said, “The law is strictly enforced against those who drive recklessly, as their motor vehicles or motorbikes will be impounded for a month, and the offenders will be referred to the Public Prosecution for legal action.”
