Most people when hear the word IMPALA don’t think of a medium-sized African antelope but instead about a huge American car that moves like a ship!

The African antelope Impala feels the most comfortable found in savannas and thick bushveld in Africa and the all new 2014 Chevrolet full-size flagship sedan, Impala, was launched here in Dubai in our own version of the savannas at The Farm, AL Barari.

The President and Managing Director of General Motors Middle East Operations Mr. John Stadwick, Mr. Mathew Noone Director of Exterior Design GM South America and the man behind the all new MyLink Mr. Jeffrey Massimilla unveiled the all new 2014 Chevrolet Impala to us just at dusk amongst tall trees, manmade waterfall and pools.

The new Impala looked nice, at least on the stage. The proportions, which Mathew Noone explained earlier, appeared to be the link between the latest and the old classic. The long swept back roof gives it the modern touch. And the attention to detail is apparent at once.

The new Impala is positioned in the E-Segment which forms the 3.9% of the auto market and the main competition for the Impala is Toyota Avalon with 19% market share, Ford Taurus with 13%, Hyundai Azera with 18% and Caprice with 8%. It is targeted at the established professionals between 30 to 40 years of age with the strong points being exterior styling, perceived luxury, best in class space and affordability and one of the lowest cost of ownership.

The new Impala has more legroom, a bigger engine, is more powerful and has the latest MyLink system. It has a lot more standard features including 10 airbags. Amongst optional and trim level based features it has rear camera, forward collision alert, lane departure warning and blind spot alert. It has 4 wheel rim design options and three sizes of 18”, 19” and 20” for the three LS, LT and LTZ trims. A customer would also be able to choose from four diffirent interior colour schemes.

The new Impala would be available from AED 105,000 for the basic LS, AED 114,000 for the LT and AED 129,000 for the top LTZ.
