A mildly popular SUV in UAE is a best selling popular SUV in Saudi Arabia. So popular in fact, that Ford Motor Company is refreshing the car for the 2015 model year keeping the Saudi and Texas market in focus. The Ford Expedition is truly the last body-on-frame SUV in Ford’s fleet and Ford has managed to sell 65,000 units globally out of which 38,350 trucks were sold in US – Texas mostly where it averaged 1 in 5 sold – and the other market was Middle East where Ford sold 22,000 units out of which Saudi got the highest share. It’s about time the Expedition received an update since the last update was in 2006. Also, many customers have switched to crossovers from big trucks thus reducing the sales. Some of the car’s highlights are as follows:

- EcoBoost V6 instead of 5.4 V8

- 4 trim levels: XLT, Limited, King Ranch and Platinum

- Includes Ford’s latest tech like Sync, MyFord Touch and Blind Spot Alert with cross traffic

- Adaptive damping

- Electric power-assisted steering

- Price is expected to increase from $500 to $3,000 depending on trim, as compared to current models.
