2015 Honda CR-V Launched in Dubai, UAE

The 2015 Honda CR-V is now available in GCC showrooms, with prices starting from 89,900 AED. The UAE launch was held recently in Dubai and some notable changes were evident. The new CR-V has a wide and low stance and now comes in 2WD in addition to AWD. The engine is now direct injection to allow for approximately 10% increased torque and the transmission is now CVT (groan) similar to Nissan X-Trail. While the interior space remains pretty much the same as last year, the new style is much improved and overdue. Technology upgrades in interior include rear view camera for EX models and above. Also included (finally) is the LaneWatch system which basically eliminates the right hard shoulder blind spots via a video transmission (see our Accord video of LaneWatch). It will be interesting to see how this compares with Nissan X-Trail in our test drive (see specs comparison). Honda is planning to compete with rivals aggressively with 3 new model launches expected this year.
