When car experts think safety then only one brand comes in mind – Volvo. Yes, Volvo, the Swedish maker has carved a niche for itself in developing state-of-the-art safety technologies most of which we use in our daily driving. One prime example is the 3-point seatbelt which we all use. It was developed by Volvo. But like any technology driven industry, one has to keep innovating to stay in the game and Volvo is lagging well behind its German rivals. However, that’s about to change as Volvo has introduced another ‘world’s-first’ safety technology in the upcoming 2015 XC90. Following are the details:

- The car has a unique safety system which will auto brake at an intersection when the driver turns across traffic and the car senses a vehicle approaching. In this way, a collision is avoided.

- The car also will feature a system to protect from accidental road departures. Should this happen, the pre-tensing seatbelts and active shocks in seats will make sure the occupants remain safe.

- The car frame is built 40 percent from hot-formed boron steel which is the strongest type of steel used in the auto industry.

- The car also displays all the nearby rest stop or coffee shop locations when it feels the driver is drowsy.

Moreover, the XC90 has an optional 500 BHP hybrid engine. This makes the XC90 the most powerful Hybrid SUV.
