Successor to the hugely popular Land Rover LR4, the all-new Discovery is a model that retains all the fizz that made its predecessor a popular sight on the roads of the Middle East. Bartering its tall, boxy dimensions for a suaver and smarter design, the all-new model more closely resembles the brand’s current design direction.

Set to be launched at Dubai’s Kite Beach on Thursday evening, the 5-door SUV is expected to flaunt a price tag that ranges from AED 237,000 for the standard “S” trim, to AED 324,000 for the fully loaded “First Edition” model. A dramatic departure from the outgoing model, the 2017 Land Rover Discovery is seen sporting a set of 21-inch wheels and trading its vertical tail lamp design for a sleeker horizontal layout.

Under the hood, the Discovery is expected to welcome the brand’s tried and tested 3.0-liter Supercharged V6 unit that churns out 450 Nm of torque and sprints from 0 – 100 km/h in 7.1-seconds. While that’s all for now, stay tuned for more as it unfolds!
