2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport vs 2017 Mercedes Benz GLC

Interior

In terms of style, the German brand has a design that perfectly blends classic Mercedes Benz features with modern chic, making its British rival look rather dull.

Both SUVs include steering tilt adjustments, map reading lamps, and power steering. Performance

The Land Rover Discovery Sport runs on a 2.0-liter engine that produces 240 horsepower and 340 NM of torque. Its maximum speed is at 200 km/h, and has an acceleration of 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds. In contrast, the Mercedes Benz GLC’s 2.0-liter engine emits 211 horsepower and 350 NM of torque, allowing it to reach speeds of up to 222 km/h and an acceleration of 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds.

Verdict

In terms of style, functionality and performance, there is no doubt that the 2017 Mercedes Benz GLC outranks its British rival. But with a price of AED 190,000, one can wonder what you are really paying for. On the other hand, the 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport is offered at a more affordable price of AED 176,500. It runs on almost the same horsepower and at about similar speeds, so it is one tough contender. The British SUV also offers a bigger space and storage capacity, making it the better choice for those with active lifestyles.
