An abbreviation for Toyota Racing Development and the performance arm of Toyota Motor Corporation, TRD is expanding its wings and working its magic on more than budget coupes and capable off-roaders stamped with the Toyota badge. Its newest project, comes in the form of the 2017 Lexus LX 570.

Offering a combination of style packs and performance upgrades on other models, TRD’s take on the Japanese SUV seems to focus on the former with a sportier mesh grille, aggressively-styled bumpers, prominent side sills, a blacked-out diffuser, and large twin-spoke alloys.

Whether the LX 570 needed the TRD treatment, is questionable, but what’s certain is that it will turn quite a few heads. And if I were to guess where and when we might see one in its flesh, it’ll probably be at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show in October!
