Humayun Alam – General Manager – Sales at Al Masaood Automobiles, said:”We are proud to introduce the Gannas edition as a customized and ready solution for our demanding customers who are in search of the perfect hunting vehicle with special off-road capabilities. Being developed by AMA, we are sure that it will give our customers peace of mind and warranty as it can be fully serviced at AMA.”

Literally translated as “Hunting Edition”, the 2017 Nissan Patrol Gannas is a unique utility vehicle developed by Al Masaood Automobiles and displayed at the International Hunting & Equestrian Exhibition in Abu Dhabi.

AMA Product Manager Emil Khneisser who supervised the development of this exclusive AMA local project, said: “Gannas is not a new idea. In 1994-1995 Gannas had been launched with the 5th generation of the Nissan Patrol, equipping vehicles with sand tires and water tanks in place of the third row of seats. Today, we have revived the concept and developed an exclusive vehicle that is fully equipped to serve the requirements of passionate off-roaders in the UAE.”

What sets the Gannas Edition apart from the standard V8, is a set of full skid plates, an ARB BP51 suspension set-up, an onboard air compressor, Hutchinson double beadlock 18" rims, an ABS disconnect switch, and a flag pole.

Opt for the optional extras and there’s a 290-liter fuel tank (AED 493 for a full tank and a range of 2320 km!), a rear spare tire carrier, a concealed winch, off-road tires, an ARB recovery kit and a set of sand ladders to be had.

Tested rigorously in the Rub All Khali (Empty Quarters), the 2017 Nissan Patrol Gannas stands 50mm higher than the standard vehicle and weighs approximately 70 kilograms more. Bearing a price tag of AED 260,000, the first batch consists of 55 vehicles with Al Masaood remaining optimistic about selling 400 units within the fiscal year.
