Far from striking, there isn’t quite anything that splits the room as fast as the Porsche Panamera – a statement that most certainly holds true when referring to the first-generation model that debuted in 2009. The all-new model, while it retains the silhouette of its predecessor, is more 718 Boxster than Panamera and that, is a phenomenal thing.

Set to arrive on UAE shores tomorrow, the 2017 Porsche Panamera is an extremely important model for the brand and one that already holds the record for the fastest production sedan to lap the Nurburgring Nordschleife in just 7 minutes and 38 seconds.

Sitting at 5,049mm long, the all-new Panamera is 34mm longer, 6mm wider and 5mm taller than its predecessor. With the front wheels shifted further forward and the rear overhang increased, the all-new Panamera bears a significantly more elegant and powerful presence.

Porsche being Porsche, there are numerous versions of the Panamera that are expected to be available, ranging from the sensible 330 horsepower unit to the ballistic 550 horsepower variant, but it remains to be seen which ones out of the extensive model range make their way to the UAE.

While that’s all for now, stay tuned for live updates from the event.
