The 2018 Kia Niro is marquee’s attempt at making the perfect hybrid crossover in the market. Along with its minimalistic yet modern design language, and a pleasing interior, this Kia crossover would make for a great family urban runabout.

The 2018 kia Niro is powered by a 1.6-liter petrol engine that puts out just 104 HP and 147 Nm of torque. Being a hybrid, the Niro also gets a 1.6kWh battery coupled to an AC motor which makes an additional 44 horses and 170 Nm. This gives the Kia Niro a total combined output of 139 HP and 264 Nm of torque. Power is channeled to the front wheels via a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The 1.4-ton Kia Niro is capable of making the 0-100 km/h run in 9 and bit seconds, whilst top speed is limited to just over 170 km/h. The 2018 Kia Niro doesn’t sport a very flashy exterior and though it’s a “crossover”, it isn’t a very tall one at that. The lines and curves are subtle and on the whole, this is an inoffensive if not too exciting a design. The cabin is well made, and the material quality and trim are good as well. The Niro also gets plenty of onboard features and enough safety nannies to keep occupants safe.
