2018 Nissan Leaf at the Dubai Motor Show

The Nissan Leaf was initially launched in 2010 as one of the first affordable production all-electric vehicle (EV). Now, the all-new 2018 Nissan Leaf is here, and it promises more range, better performance, and more mature styling.

The exterior design of the new 2018 Nissan Leaf is more modern and boasts better aerodynamic performance over its predecessor. The front fascia now wears Nissan’s new V-Motion family look, and there’s a new glossy black trim sitting between the bumper and the front grille. This piece melts nicely into the new, sleek LED headlamps. The front sports a new bumper and hood design.

The side profile looks interesting too, especially with the pronounced shoulder/character line running across it. The rear of the 2018 Nissan Leaf looks way better, unlike the previous model’s controversial and iffy backend. The sharply raked back gets redesigned, boomerang-shaped taillamps, plus a new rear bumper with a rear diffuser at the bottom.

The cabin of the 2018 Nissan Leaf feels modern and comes well-equipped. The quality of switchgear is better than before, and the new Leaf gets Nissan’s latest safety systems as well. Powering the new Nissan Leaf is a larger 40kWh battery, which means 240 kilometers of range on a single charge.

Peak power and torque figures of 147 HP and 320 Nm, respectively, are higher than before as well. The 1.5-ton 2018 Nissan Leaf is capable of hitting the ton mark in just over 7.5 seconds and can go on to an indicated 145 km/h.
