2021 Land Rover Discovery Debuts With Subtle Changes

Posted by Zaran Tarapore on Nov 10, 2020

As part of its product refreshment spree that JLR is currently undergoing, the 2021 Land Rover Discovery sits at the receiving end of a number of subtle changes both inside and out. The facelifted model boats revised styling, an upgraded interior, and a number of new engine options.

Although difficult to notice at first glance, the revised exterior welcomes a new grille that is flanked by an updated set of headlights up front. In the back, a new set of taillights and a modified bumper set the facelifted model apart from its predecessor, while the new black trim on the liftgate makes the asymmetrical design a little more digestible.

Inside the cabin, the changes are far more noticeable with a new infotainment system that is similar to the one found in the all-new Defender. It measures 11.4-inches in size and possesses the ability to receive over the air updates. Other changes include a new steering wheel and a stubbier gear lever, along with minimal buttons and knobs for a cleaner layout. Back seat passengers receive plusher and more comfortable seats along with a new set of air vents and updated climate controls.

As for engine options, a new turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 296 horsepower has been added to the line-up, in addition to a new 3.0-liter in-line-six with mild hybrid technology that pushes out a meatier 355 horsepower. The 2021 Land Rover Discovery is expected to make its way to the region by early next year.
