2022 Kia K9 Undergoes Big Facelift

Posted by Zaran Tarapore on May 18, 2021

The Kia Quoris, or K9 as it is known in other markets, is the Korean automaker’s flagship sedan and in a bid to keep it a relevant contender in the luxury sedan segment, it has undergone a significant facelift with one of the biggest changes being the Thor-inspired headlamps.

First introduced in 2018, the K9 has been updated to be more “luxurious” and “sophisticated” than the outgoing model. What that means to regular people like you and me, is that it now comes with a new grille, slimmer headlamps, and a large bumper upfront. Other changes include 19-inch alloys and a new taillight that runs the width of the car.

Unfortunately, the vehicle’s interior has not been revealed yet, however seeing that the exterior has received a significant upgrade, it is safe to assume the same has been carried over inside as well. We expect finer materials, better seats, and perhaps an update to the infotainment system as well.

In a similar fashion, Kia has not yet announced any updates to the car’s powertrain. The outgoing model is offered in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants, with the range-topping model coming in with a 50-liter V8 that produces 419 horsepower. There is also a selection of V6 engines in certain markets that produce between 250 horsepower and 311 horsepower.
