Arabian Automobiles Aftersales Department, which is responsible for car servicing, repairs, spare parts and maintenance, won the 6th consecutive ‘World Aftersales Progress Club’ (WAPC) Global Aftersales Award from Nissan Motor Company. Arabian Automobiles is the first company in the world to win the award 6 times in a row and 15 times in total.

The performance metrics measured for the award in the 2013 WAPC competition includes evaluations on parts sales, service sales, service retention, parts inventory management, Nissan Competitive Advantage Map (N-CAM) and customer service.

Receiving the award, Mr. Rajkumar, Director of Aftersales commented that the inventory management of Arabian Automobiles is such that it retains 3 months of spare parts at 99% availability, in order to ensure the best possible service. Mr. Michel Ayat, CEO of Arabian Automobiles said the aftersales market will be the real differentiator for car companies in the future, as profit margins on new car sales are dipping due to competition. Hence, customers will be more interested in the dealer reputation for maintenance when they make a car buying decision in future. He also said UAE will be crossing a threshold for new car sales this year; it will be crossing the peak of 350,000 units sold in 2008. It is predicted that by 2020 when Expo Dubai arrives, the number of units sold will be doubled.

We also had a tour of the Arabian Automobiles aftersales facility. On a daily basis, Arabian Automobiles receives 1,300 cars daily for servicing. It is also the only distributor to have 24 / 7 servicing facilities in UAE and also the only distributor to have a service center in Dibba.
