Audi expands electric lineup with etron GT

Building on the worldwide success of the etron and the etron Sportback, German automaker Audi has taken the wraps off its all-new electric model, the etron GT. Unveiled in an online event, the etron GT made its world debut with an energized driving performance that was nothing short of spectacular.

“The e-tron GT is a stand-alone Gran Turimso, reinterpreted for the future. Its looks are a testament to premium automotive design. Bringing impressive driving performance, this is electro-mobility in the most emotive way. And with its sustainable concept, it takes a stand.,” explains Markus Duesmann, CEO of AUDI AG.

The exterior of the Audi etron GT is nothing short of being a work of art. Each surface and each line is harmonious, from the headlights, which are available with Audi laser light upon request, to the large diffuser at the rear. The interior also corresponds to that of a classic gran turismo: The driver and front passenger seats are installed in a sporty low position and separated by a wide center console, and the rear seats provide sufficient space even for adults.

Depending on the model, the etron GT is available with two electric motor outputs: 476PS or a more powerful 598PS. WLTP range estimates stand at 487 kilometers per charge, which should round up to around 400 in the real world – impressive for an 85 kWh battery pack. To make the drive as engaging as possible, the etron GT is armed with Audi drive select, all-wheel steering, three-chamber air suspension, all-wheel-drive, and a rear-axle differential lock.

“For me, progress means creating something new. Something that no one has ever done before in this form. Designing a fully electric vehicle is like this: the entire design process has to be thought through anew”, Marc Lichte, Head of Design, AUDI AG.
