Bentley has announced that production has begun for the all-new Bentayga EWB. The Bentayga family now has five models with the EWB taking the share of about 40 percent of all new Bentayga orders and is currently Bentley’s best-selling model.

The latest EWB revealed in May takes a whopping 132 hours to build. As expected with Bentley, 10 of the 132 hours are spent in just curating the wood for each model according to the bespoke customizations requested by the customer. Bentley calls the Bentayga EWB its "new sector-defining pinnacle model."

The Bentayga EWB isn’t all about stretching the luxury space, it’s about a whole lot more. It gets an airline seat over the regular Bentayga which has 12 electric motors and offers 22-way adjustment.

Only one engine option is available with the Crewe-based brand going for its tried-and-tested twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine packing 542 horsepower and 770 Nm of torque. This makes the EWB capable of doing 62mph in 4.5 seconds and hitting 180 mph flat out.

Peter Bosch, Member of the Board for Manufacturing at Bentley, said: “The new Bentayga Extended Wheelbase is the next chapter in the Bentagya story which, since the original luxury SUV came to market in 2015, has transformed the sector and resulted in record sales.”

“In our Crewe, U.K. Dream Factory, we combine the highest levels of innovation, craftsmanship and sustainability. Each car produced contains leading technology and is an artisanal piece of art, handcrafted using only the finest of materials, in true Bentley fashion. As part of the Bentley experience, our first EWB customers significantly personalized their orders and we are proud to now deliver the first highly bespoke cars of our new sector-defining pinnacle model,” he concluded.
