As part of a media drive, Bentley took nine Flying Spurs to Beverly Hills in California. While the Flying Spur is the pinnacle of luxury offered by Bentley, the hybrid version of the limo also has an eco-friendly aspect to it with its electric power tech.

Out of the 10,500 miles covered over six days, the hybrid Flying Spurs did 3,000 miles on electric power alone. By doing so, the Flying Spurs didn’t only pollute less but also saved  three gallons of fuel each day when compared to the car’s V8 sibling.

The Bentley Flying Spur hybrid is powered by a 2.9-litre V6 petrol engine which is coupled with an electric motor. Together they produce 536 bhp and 750 Nm of torque. The electric motor is feeded power by a 18.9 kWh lithium ion battery which can be fully charged in as little as two and a half hours.

The EV mode also offers a lot of refinement by reducing the cabin noise to 50 percent as compared to a combustion engine. This means that you can enjoy and feel the luxurious Bentley interior more on a long drive.

A research from Bentley revealed that 70 percent of customers buy hybrids because of their eco friendliness with 98 per cent driving daily in EV mode and 83 per cent also charging their vehicle daily. The Bentley Flying Spur hybrid covers the eco-friendly aspect while also giving owners the experience of having a top-notch grand tourer with the security of an internal combustion engine.
