Bentley set to launch five new electric cars in five years starting from 2025

Bentley has elaborated on its Beyond100 strategy going by which the British firm aims to be an all-electric brand by 2030. The Crewe-based firm has announced that it will be launching five electric models in five years, starting from 2025. This will help Bentley become an electric-only carbon-neutral brand by the start of the next decade.

For facilitating all the electric car R&D and production, Bentley is investing £2.5billion in a new green plant near its infamous factory in Crewe. The number of solar panels in the facility will also be increased from 30,000 to 40,000 in the coming two years. The new plant will let the luxury carmaker become fully sustainable and achieve its eco-friendly goals by 2030.

We are told that all five cars will not be built on the same platform and that the first two cars will have a lot in common in terms of battery tech. What is confirmed is that all upcoming Bentley models will use VW Group’s shared architecture and that all these cars will be brand-new from the ground up.

“This latest announcement regarding Bentley’s Beyond100 plan confirms the initiation of a major transformative phase in the company’s long and illustrious history.”

“The world is changing and we need to play our part in neutralising our environmental impact. That means delivering on our aim to be end-to-end carbon neutral by 2030, and reaffirming our role as the leader in sustainable luxury mobility," said a statement from Bentley.
