Black points for using cell phones while driving

Dubai’s Traffic Police Chief, Major General Mohammed Saif Al Zafeen, issued a warning against drivers who use their mobile phones while driving, saying that the police will not tolerate such a horrible mistake by any person.

Al Zafeen added that those who violate this rule will be fined Dh200 and 4 black points that will be added to their traffic record, as he described those violations as “serious mistakes that often lead to disasters”.

He also showed Dubai’s police figures that state that 20,772 tickets were issued to drivers who got caught using their mobile phones while driving in the first half of 2013 while 23,473 were fined in the first half of 2012. 

Al Zafeen adviced that any person who receives a phone call while driving must stop their car on the right side of the road and make their call, stressing on the point that they will no more tolerate this mistake.
