Bringing back an iconic nameplate that ran from 1989 to 1999, BMW lifts the veil on the eagerly anticipated 8 Series Coupe. Adding a new chapter to the automaker’s lustrous history, is the all-new second-generation model that is out to fight off the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe and the upcoming Audi A9 following a 19-year hiatus.

Differentiating itself from other models in the brand’s line-up, the 8 Series Coupe flaunts the slimmest headlights of any BMW model, with optional Laserlight technology, amongst other changes that include a deeply sculpted hood with precise contours, a low-set kidney grille, and broad haunches for a muscle car-like stance.

A unique combination of sportiness and contemporary luxury, the cabin is home to Vernasca leather trim as standard, along with glass elements embellishing the gear shifter and select controls around the interior. The list of standard equipment also includes a 7.0-inch central display, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster display, steering controls, voice control, and the brand’s signature gesture control.

With development taking place parallel to the M8 and the M8 GTE endurance racer, the 8 Series, is a driver’s car in every right with a low center of gravity; well-balanced weight distribution; an aluminum, magnesium and carbon-fiber construction, a rear differential lock, active steering, adaptive suspension, the works.

With market launch expected to take place in November 2018, the BMW 8 Series Coupe is set to make its Middle East debut in an exciting M850i xDrive flavor that produces 530 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque from its 4.4-liter V8 engine to accelerate from 0 – 100 km/h in a remarkable 3.7-seconds.
