Having released a concept of the second-generation model that is due to be launched in 2018, BMW has gone a step further and teased the world with a heavily camouflaged M8 at the 24-Hour race at the ultimate proving grounds, the Nürburgring.

Traditional M features like larger air intakes, modified brakes and a sports exhaust with four tailpipes, hint at the significantly boosted power and dynamic potential of the vehicle. A closer inspection also reveals a boot-integrated spoiler, sleek head and tail lamps, and a neat window line to accentuate the contours along the bodywork.

“The conception and development of the standard BMW 8 Series and the M model run in parallel,” explains Frank van Meel, President BMW M Division. “The future BMW M8 will build on the genes of the 8 Series and augment its DNA with added track ability and generous extra portions of dynamic sharpness, precision and agility.”
