Recognizing the issue of emblem theft over a decade ago, the British marque introduced an over engineered mechanism that retracts the emblem when it is tampered with.

Although the suave salesman in the video doesn’t put up much of a fight, judging from the speed at which it retracts into the hood, it probably is best not to get your fingers caught in. So there you have it folks, the Spirit of Ecstasy cannot be casually yanked off the hood of a Rolls-Royce, unless you’re well equipped, of course.
