Car prices too high in Qatar?

Contrary to popular belief, the car prices are not high in Qatar as per the dealers. Instead, the dealers argued that consumers buy only full-option vehicles which are obviously more expensive than the base models. Thus, it creates an impression that car prices are high as compared to other GCC countries.

Moreover, the car manufacturers strictly monitor the car dealers for final rates and after-sales services. So, in this way, no car dealer can sell cars at prices higher than those approved by the manufacturer. The dealers also stated that prices of all cars can be checked by customers on their respective dealer websites.

Regarding spare parts, well, the laws in Qatar doesn’t permit import of any counterfeit parts hence, this vigorous quality checks do tend to modify the final price – which can’t be compared to other GCC countries.

Do you agree with these assertions? Do you know Qatar residents who import cars from UAE and Oman due to cheaper prices? Tell us what you think.
