The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in collaboration with Dubai Municipality and other related service entities, announced on Monday its clean-up programme in Dubai, starting with Shaikh Zayed Road to clean up trash including grass and sand, where people manually pick up the trash.

Engineer Maitha Bin Udai, CEO of RTA Traffic and Roads Agency, said: “We have opted for Shaikh Zayed Road as a starting point due to its vital importance and strategic location both to the aesthetic and urban aspects. The approved programme includes cleaning works and the removal of accumulated dust in the medians.”

She also added: “The campaign is launched with the intention of boosting the profile of Dubai among modern cosmopolitan cities; which epitomizes the urbanized and futuristic vision of our prudent leaders aimed at turning the emirate into an attractive hub in keeping with the advancements it made at all fronts.”
