Court-on-Wheels in Abu Dhabi

Posted by Samar Huneidi on May 30, 2013

Court-on-wheels is what the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department will launch in September, aiming to spread justice and raising awareness.

This project is under the patronage of Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al, Nahyan, eputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judiciary Department. Judicial department officials said that they hope that the project, other than raising awareness, tries to break the barriers between members of the public.

In the first phase of the initiative, one level of the bus will be like a courtroom with real employees from the judicial department, and the other level will be working on paper work and certificates. The second phase will become a fully-operational courtroom with trials and such.

A spokesperson said "This will be especially efficient to reach those involved in group hearings or individuals with special needs who have difficulty travelling."

They have announced that this initiative is under trial and will therefore be subject to changes.
