Dubai Police Launches Free Service to Alert Drivers of Traffic Jams and Road Closures

Posted by Zaran Tarapore on Jan 4, 2020

In a bid to reduce congestion on the roads of the emirate and allow motorists to plan their routes better, Dubai Police has introduced a new complimentary service for all road users. Integrated into the mobile app, the new service alerts drivers of any major accidents that have taken place on the roads of the emirate. With real-time alerts, it also notifies drivers of temporary street closures so that they can plan an alternative route instead.

"Providing the community with smart solutions reflects Dubai Police’s keenness to achieve the strategic objectives of the government to transform Dubai into a smart city," said Brigadier Khalid Nasser Alrazooqi, Director of the General Department of Artificial Intelligence at Dubai Police.

The Dubai Police mobile app is available for both iOS and Android devices in their respective app stores.
