Starting out at the iconic Burj Al Arab in Dubai, Emirates EVRT saw owners of Electric Vehicles in and around the country travel in a convoy across Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah before completing the Road Trip at the Sustainable City in Dubai. Thanks in part to Arabian Automobiles' warm hospitality, they had arranged for members of the YallaMotor team to partake in the rally in a sky blue Renault Zoe and join in on the fun.

Renault's Sales Manager for Electric Vehicles, Xavier Braun, accompanied us on the first leg of the rally and explained the numerous benefits of Electric Vehicles in great detail. Automotive galore for passersby, the convoy comprised of forty-odd EV enthusiasts piloting Tesla’s ludicrous Model S and Model X, Renault’s practical Zoe and Twizy, and a retrofitted 2009 Volkswagen Golf Station Wagon.

Ben Pullen, Founder & CEO of Global EVRT said, “The UAE is at a very early stage when it comes to the electric vehicle industry, when compared to other countries in Europe, for example. Aspects like the number of dealers selling electric vehicles in the UAE needs to increase.”

Since late 2015, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has set up one hundred electric-car charging stations across the emirate. The initiative by Emirates EVRT sees another three new stations added at hotels in Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Abu Dhabi.
