It wasn’t until Tesla soared to front page headlines and began churning out breathtaking models that Electric Vehicles remained a drab topic in the automotive space. Envious of the fame, new contender Faraday Future releases images of its FF 91 – an Electric Vehicle with 1,050 horsepower and a 0 – 100 km/h time of just 2.39 seconds.

The first production EV in the brand’s line-up, the FF 91 is hyped to be the fastest accelerating electric car in the world, surpassing Tesla’s current record of 2.5-seconds. The FF 91 achieves this with a 130-kWH battery pack that powers four motors and generates 1800 Nm of torque! Despite its eye-watering performance figures, Faraday’s EV boasts an EPA-estimate of 610 km per tank of fuel - spectacular!

With ten high definition cameras, thirteen long and short range radars, and twelve ultrasonic sensors, the FF 91 features more sensors than any other car in the world. Equipped with an interesting set of features such as Driverless Valet - that parks the vehicle once the driver walks out - Faraday Future’s FF 91 is undoubtedly the Electric Car of the future.

Although phenomenal in every aspect, there stands a lot of cynicism around the FF 91’s ability to reach the production line. With several top execs leaving days before the reveal and the brand’s production plant on hold, only time will tell if the FF 91 is reality or a berserk petrolhead’s dream.
